The 100th innocent person has been released from death row!
Here's what you can do - for groups:
- Send a press release from your state coalition (sample) or local group (sample) to state press as soon as the 100th person is released.
- Encourage your members to send a letter to the editor (sample) to local newspapers.
- If other groups in your state have passed moratorium resolutions, ask them to prepare and send a press release as well (sample).
Here's what you can do - for individuals:
- Send a letter to the editor (sample) to local newspapers.
- Write your state legislators and Governor and ask them if 100 innocent people is enough? Demand a moratorium on executions to study flaws in the system.
In addition, our National Tally of groups calling for a moratorium on executions has reached and surpassed 2,000 groups, including 70 local governments! Our sample press releases include this tie-in to the national moratorium movement.
So please help spread the word about innocence, moratorium, 2000 resolutions, and our wonderful, growing movement! If you have any questions or want additional materials, just call or email Shari at Moratorium Now!
