Polypropylene

Polystyrene

  • Common material in jewel cases

Vinyl

  • Flexible material that resists breaking and cracking
  • Vinyl album covers are of a softer material and have chip-board heat-sealed inside for durability
  • Vinyl album trays are semi-rigid
  • Better in mild temperatures

Polyethylene

  • Plastic formed from a by-product of petroleum
  • Lightweight plastic that’s resistant to chemicals and moisture
  • Commonly used in packaging and storage bags (Monaco bags use acid-free polyethylene)
